I have an HP dv2700 series laptop which I have come to loathe. Perhaps the most frustrating problem with the computer is the power cord. The manufacturers unit died just out of warranty. Since then, I have purchased several alternate power cords, including the item from this manufacturer and have had a similar experience with them. They're built to last 3-6 months of heavy use. I'm not talking about abusing it, just carrying it from place to place in one's bag and using it every day (I'm a student). The cord was also shorter than some I'd bought from other manufacturers. On the flip side, it's cheap. A lot better than buying directly from HP which is 4 times as expensive and just as poor quality. On the occasion of my writing this, I'm actually preparing to buy another because this one's beginning to short... :( My suggestion; next time buy a mac.

I received this AC adapter in a timely manner and it appeared to be in new condition. The adapter worked fine, powering a laptop for a few days and then died. It was making a faint beeping noise and that was it, it was dead. This may have been caused by a problem with the laptop I had it plugged into as the OEM adapter died the same way but, I squired another adapter and the laptop has been powered by it for a few weeks now with no issue. My suggestion is, try another vendor or simply keep your receipt.
